RE: Cast Iron Soil Pipe Products List Price Increase Announcement

To Our Valued Customers:

Our industry is experiencing recent sharp increases globally in the cost of raw materials that go into manufacturing cast iron products. Specifically the cost of scrap and pig iron,which combine as the basic raw material,has gone up over 30% within the last 90-days.

While we continuously attempt to absorb higher costs, these dramatic increases as well as the rising price of fuel make it necessary to increase our prices for Star Cast Iron Soil Pipe and Fittings. Effective March 15th, our multipliers are increasing on cast iron pipe and fittings nationwide as well as a second increase expected effective May. We will be contacting you to discuss the pricing specific to your area.

We sincerely regret the need to act so quickly, but current circumstances and the near term outlook leave us no alternative.
